For our BBBS July 2009 Match Event Big Brothers Big Sisters matches embarked on an afternoon of exploring the Manitowoc River by launching at Manitou Park and docking at the Manitowoc Marina. Using Voyageur canoes to help us travel back in time, we discovered our rich river heritage and our impact on the river ecosystem today. Seeing the river through new eyes, everyone agreed the outing was a unique opportunity to explore the outdoors and develop a greater appreciation of the Manitowoc River. The Voyageur Canoe Trip was a magical experience that we’ll remember for many years. A huge THANK YOU to Wendy Lutzke and the Maritime Museum for providing Big Brothers Big Sisters with an awesome river adventure!
