For our BBBS July 2008 Match Event Bigs and Littles had planned to participate in a Voyager Canoe trip exploring the Manitowoc River. Mother Nature had other plans however, as the area was pounded with heavy rains followed by thick fog in the Manitowoc River harbor area. This event was planned in partnership with the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. Educational Director, Wendy at the museum came to the rescue with plan B which included a tour of the submarine and museum followed with a pizza party. Bigs and Littles available on the following Friday were invited to participate in another Voyager canoe trip planned for that day. Wisconsin weather does not always cooperate when planning outdoor activities. With safety being our primary concern for Bigs and Littles, we sometimes need to be flexible in changing plans at the last minute. Thank you to museum staff and our Bigs and Littles for being flexible and rolling with last minute changes.
