Match Event - August

We are heading out on the Big Pond, known as Lake Michigan for a Great Lakes fishing adventure for the BBBS August Match Event. We will be boarding boats guided by experienced Great Lakes Fishermen at 4:30 a.m. in hopes of catching the early morning Salmon and Trout bite. Boats with their Bigs & Littles will be returning to shore and meeting at Seagull Marina in Two Rivers at 10:00 a.m. where they will be treated to a great shore lunch. After lunch, trophies will be awarded for the biggest fish and the largest overall catch. Prizes will be awarded to all children that participate in the Kids Fish Derby. This event is sponsored by Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fishermen and Seagull Marina. • When: Saturday, August 2nd, 4:30 a.m.to 11:00 a.m.
• Where: Seagull Marina, Two Rivers, behind McDonalds.
• Who: Bigs/Littles, unmatched Littles/Parent or Guardian, Special Volunteer.

EMPOWER

• When: Thursday, July 24th from 6PM to 8PM
• Where: Big Brothers Big Sisters Office - 810 Washington Street, Manitowoc.
• Who: Parents, children, volunteers who have not fulfilled their obligation to complete this two hour mandatory prevention program should select one of the above class dates.
• Sign Up: Please call the BBBS office 684-7445 to register at least two business days before the class.

Day Maker Program

Any youth that is currently enrolled in our program is eligible for the following FREE services at Martin's College of Cosmetology located at 1034 South 18th Street, Manitowoc: Haircuts, Manicures, Bang trim, Pedicures, Scalp treatments, Basic facials, and Hair styling such as blow dry, curling iron. rollers, etc.

Acrylic nail service has been eliminated. Cost of purchasing a full set of nails and choice of color polish is $25.00.

Discount prices are as follows: Perms – 80 % off regular price, Colors & Highlights – 75% off regular price, Waxing & Sugaring – 50% off regular price, and Paraffin hand or foot dips - $1.00

If you plan to take advantage of the Day-Maker services it is important that you follow these directions: Call the BBBS office at 684-7445 and request an eligibility voucher. When you call Martin's at 684-0177 to make an appointment, be sure to identify yourself as a “Day-Maker”. Services for the Day-maker Program are Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. A parent is required to be present for some of the services. Present a BBBS eligibility voucher for each appointment. A patch test, 24-48 hours in advance, is required for color services.

• When: Wednesday, August 20th, by appointment only.
